General
Dungeons NOT Dating is a mobile app for iOS and Android that connects Dungeons and Dragons players based on playstyle, schedule, and vibe. Think of it like a matchmaking app, but instead of dates, you are finding your next adventuring party. The app was built to eliminate barriers of entry and celebrate diversity in the tabletop RPG community. Whether you are a first-time player or a forever Game Master, you can create a profile, swipe through other players, match when it is mutual, and start chatting to form your perfect group. It supports virtual play through platforms like Roll20, Discord, and Fantasy Grounds, and is currently available to players in the United States and Canada.
Nope! Despite the name, Dungeons NOT Dating is all about finding gaming groups and friendships. The name is a playful nod to the swipe-to-match format, but the focus is 100% on tabletop RPG connections.
We started with D&D because it is the most popular tabletop RPG, but we plan to expand to other TTRPGs in the future. Stay tuned!
Dungeons NOT Dating is currently available to players in the United States and Canada. We have a large international following and plan to expand to other regions as the community grows.
Pricing
New users get a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. After that, you can subscribe for $3.99/month or save with an annual plan at $39.99/year.
Your subscription gives you full access to every feature in the app — swiping, matching, in-app chat, playstyle filtering, schedule-based matching, and everything else. It is a simple flat rate with no ads, no additional paywalls, and no hidden costs. One subscription, full access.
Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. You will keep access through the end of your current billing period.
Matching and Gameplay
You create a profile with your playstyle preferences, experience level, schedule availability, and preferred virtual tabletop platform. Then you browse full profiles of other players and swipe right on people who match your vibe. When it is mutual, you are matched and can start chatting!
Both profile types go through the same matching process. The main difference is in the setup questions, which are tailored to whether you are looking to run games or join them. GMs and players are matched together to help form complete parties.
The app supports Roll20, Discord, and Fantasy Grounds. You can set your preferred platform in your profile so you get matched with players who use the same tools.
Not yet! We are focused on virtual tabletop gaming for now. In-person gaming features will roll out once we have enough users in specific geographic areas to make meaningful local matches. When that happens, enhanced identity verification (ID and selfie) will be required for safety.
Safety
Safety is a top priority. We use email verification for all accounts and have a built-in reporting system for misuse, harassment, or inappropriate conversations. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bad behavior. When in-person features launch, we will require additional identity verification.
You can report any user directly through the app. Our team reviews reports and takes action quickly. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming, inclusive space for all players.
Community
Yes! We have an active Discord server where players share tips, beginner resources, campaign ideas, and feedback on the app. It is a great place to connect with the community even before you find your party.
Absolutely! Dungeons NOT Dating was built to eliminate barriers of entry. Whether you have never rolled a d20 or you have been playing for decades, you belong here. Our Discord also has beginner resources to help you get started.
We love hearing from our community! You can share feedback through our Discord server, email us at [email protected], or use the in-app support feature. Player feedback directly shapes our updates.
